GeoAsia8 Wrap Up

GreenTec and Sigma Geo attended the GeoAsia8 Conference held in Brisbane on 10-13 June 2025. We were the Hydration Sponsor and the App Sponsor for the event.

A number of our team went along to various technical presentations, social functions and workshops throughout the duration of the conference. It was fantastic to be apart

Our Managing Director Christian Lisle presented a technical about Forensic Investigation of Landfill Cell Left Dormant for 4 years. 

He spoke about what the effects of leaving a cell unused for that period has on the quality of the asset over time. The paper discusses the investigation techniques and remediation methods used to achieve a condition suitable for landfill operations.

Our Technical Director Siamak Paulson presented a technical paper on Assessment of High-Density Polyethylene Geomembrane Durability Immersed in Mine Tailings Solutions at Elevated Temperatures.

The high-density polyethylene geomembrane has been widely used within the lining system of various containment facilities in mining and coal seam gas sectors. These have proven to be very effective in most cases, however some notable failures have occurred which could be attributed to either the aggressive nature of the contained solution, or the makeup of the geomembrane. This paper investigates the performance of several geomembrane products immersed in CSG Brine and Tailings solutions.
